Framed Tern

The deeply forked tail and long, narrow wings of a tern in mid-flight are suspended inside an oval gold-tone frame. This streamlined silhouette is exactly what these seabirds use to plunge-dive for fish along coastal waters, and I like how the photo-etched brass captures those anatomical lines cleanly. A glass bead on each ear wire provides a break of color just above the open metalwork.
