Mom and Baby White-Sided Dolphin

Pacific white-sided dolphins are easily recognized by their falcate dorsal fins and short, blunt beaks. Here, Mike Warner captured a mother swimming alongside her calf, using fine photo-etched hatching to define the pale stripes that run down their sides. I particularly like how the silver and gold finishes highlight the smooth contours of both bodies as they curve together.
