Spinner Dolphin* Mom and Baby

A spinner dolphin mother and calf swim together inside a rounded brass frame, their long, slender beaks and streamlined profiles clearly cut into the gold-tone metal. Fine photo-etched texturing along their flanks adds depth without cluttering the silhouette, mimicry of water catching on smooth skin. In the wild, these pelagic acrobats are famous for their spinning aerial leaps, though young calves stick close to their mothers' sides like this for up to three years before attempting their own acrobatic displays.
