Wild Bryde's Most Wanted
October 1, 2026

From missing animal designs like okapis and leaf-cutter ants, to original species tags and rare counterfeits, here are the top items currently missing from the guide.
Wild Bryde did everything with style and care, including their packaging. Instead of just carelessly throwing on price tags, they had beautifully printed and sometimes die-cut tags or booklets, or "field guides." There are a few that I've been dying to get my hands on, or at least get a decent photo for the census! Do you have any of these hanging around from the 80s/90s or hiding in your own collection?

Missing Animals
- A few animals are known to exist from the catalog, but I've never seen a single iteration on the market. Leaf-cutter ants, okapi, binturongs, lemurs, wildebeest, warthogs and platypuses - platypi? stand out as pieces that are known to exist but are missing from the secondary sites. I'm particularly eager to see a full platypus necklace that I know is out there somewhere! Please send along photos of any of these species if you have them - or any other missing species.
Fakes, Counterfeits or Seconds
I'm really interested in potential fakes or counterfeit Wild Bryde pieces, as well as seconds - they give some really interesting insight into how Wild Bryde worked in comparison to cheap manufacturers. The fakes are rare but do exist.
Discontinued & Short-Lived Lines
Early or short-run accessory formats beyond standard earrings and necklaces—such as bookmark clips, belt buckles, barrettes, keychains, or holiday ornaments that featured etched wildlife motifs. This also includes custom artwork pieces that are complex and interesting.
Reach out if you have any of these pieces in your jewelry box, or any others you'd like to see added to the census!
